Senior Minister:
Trent Sutcliffe

Catherine and I began at St. Marys Anglican in January 2016 and have felt warmly encouraged. We have four children and many strange pets.

Whilst, I love nearly every sport on the planet, I do have a fonder love for AFL, Cricket, and NRL. Catherine loves music, craft, and scrap-booking.

Our greatest excitements in church ministry are witnessing people become Christians and grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus.

Trent is the primary pastor of the St Marys Congregations.

Assistant, Youth and Children’s Minister:
Evan Moses

Madi and I moved to SMSC in 2020 from Brighton Le Sands. We both grew up in The Shire and came from non-Christian families (though praise God that Madi's dad became a Christian a few years ago).

Prior to undertaking theological education, worked in vehicle fabrication and then Christian outdoor education.

We both love kids, youth, and young adults; and have a strong passion to see them understand how awesome Jesus is.

Evan is the primary pastor of the St Clair Congregation and Kids and Youth across the Parish.

Administration Officer: Madi Moses

I joined the SMSC team in 2022 with the goal of assisting the combined churches in all areas of administration and compliance.

I’ve done a few different jobs, I was a nurse, then a pastry chef, and am now an administration and compliance officer for a custom vehicle company.

I love baking and share a strong passion for music with Evan. I also have a strong passion for kids ministry, and have the great joy of serving alongside my husband in our kids and SRE programs; even more since welcoming our first child, Adelaide, in 2021.

Madi’s work day is Friday.

Year 13 Apprentice:
Abigail Matthews

I’ve been part of St Marys Anglican since 2006. I grew up going to the kids and youth programs where I learned about Jesus.
I have a strong passion for our kids and youth, and a desire to teach them the Bible. I also enjoy reading, cooking, the outdoors, and have a profound obsession with birds.

In 2024, as part of my Year 13 Gap year program, I will be serving in a variety of ministries across our church to grow my skills as a leader. On campus, I will be studying classes in areas of biblical theology and practical ministry. In addition, I will be on mission in Fiji during June/July.

I also have a casual job in hospitality, where I work a few times per week, in addition to staying at the Year 13 campus on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

You can support Abigail in her Year 13 journey by contacting Trent or Evan.

SRE Minister:
Sophie Ormshaw

I’ve been a part of St Clair Anglican all my life and have enjoyed growing up through the kids and youth programs and then leading them myself!

I have a passion for teaching kids about Jesus, so this year I have decided to give up my part-time job to teach SRE in our local schools.

I’m also studying a master’s of teaching full-time, with the dream of becoming a teacher in the not-too-distant future.

I have a strong passion for music—I serve on the St Clair music team most weeks—and I love spending time unwinding with a good puzzle!

You can support Sophie by giving to the Tax Deductible SRE Fund and listing “Sophie Ormshaw” as the reference:

Student Minister:
James Crossley

I'm excited to be joining the saints at SMSC in 2024 as a Student Minister and continue into my second year at Moore College.  I'm looking forward to getting to know people and becoming more equipped for serving in gospel ministry.

Before starting full-time at Moore College, I worked for several years in the rail freight/transport industry... I think I'll always be a bit of a rail enthusiast!

My wife (Leonie) currently works full-time as a social worker, we live in southwest Sydney and have a heart for supporting local churches and seeing God work in the hearts of His people.

James serves at St Clair on Sundays.

The Well Apprentice:
Rob Saipa‘ia

I started attending St Marys Anglican Church in 2022. Throughout my time here, I have been encouraged through Bible Study to attend Bible College, where I am doing a Bachelor in Theology as a distance learner at Laidlaw College in NZ.

I am a full-time warehouse worker but I was recently accepted into The Well Training program and I hope to utilize the gifts God has given me to serve our community.

I enjoy playing and watching sports. I like listening to all types of music and playing the guitar.

You can find out more about The Well Training program here.
